Blockwork Privacy Policy

Effective date: 8 August 2026

Blockwork is an iPhone workout tracker. This policy describes what the app does with your data. The short version: your training data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, we run no accounts and no analytics, and the only thing that ever leaves your device is programme text you explicitly ask us to parse — which we process transiently and do not store.

Data we do not collect

Where your training data lives

Everything you record — programmes, logged sets, cardio completions, body metrics, settings — is stored in a database on your device and, via Apple's CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. That private database is encrypted and controlled by your Apple ID; we have no ability to read it. Deleting the app removes the on-device copy; your iCloud copy can be managed in iOS Settings under your Apple ID's iCloud storage.

Programme parsing

When you paste a training programme and ask Blockwork to parse it, the text you pasted is sent over an encrypted connection to our parsing service, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to convert it into a structured programme. This processing is transient:

The free parse and your device key

To offer one free parse per device, the app generates a random device identifier that is not derived from you, your Apple ID, or your hardware, and is never shared across your devices. Our service keeps an anonymous record that this identifier has used its free parse. It contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to you.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, Blockwork can write your finished workouts to Apple Health and read your bodyweight from Apple Health to show it in the Metrics tab. Health data is used only for these features, stays on your device, and is never sent to our servers or to any third party. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app, and the app continues to work fully without it.

Export

The CSV export in Settings creates files on your device and hands them to the iOS share sheet. Where they go from there is entirely your choice.

Children

Blockwork is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date.
